According to Sport England, more than 15,000,000 of us play a sport at least once a week. In every sport there is a risk of injury, and the risks can vary, but here we are taking a look at the seven most common sports injuries. They are:
- Ankle sprain
- Groin pull
- Hamstring strain
- Shin splints
- Knee injury: ACL tear
- Knee injury: Patellofemoral syndrome —pain round your kneecap
- Tennis elbow (epicondylitis)
The most common sports injuries are strains and sprains, and many people might choose to ignore the early signs, or self-medicate with painkillers. Of course this can be a bad idea.
